The Practice

General Internal Medicine - Emphasis on Fitness and Nutrition.

The practice is a traditional Internal Medicine practice - managing acute and chronic illnesses.

There is an additional emphasis on Preventive Medicine - promoting health and optimizing general wellness.

Physical Activity is not equivalent to Physical Fitness.  Both are important in lowering risk of heart attack and stroke.  Physical Fitness plays a more significant role.  Most people can approximate their "activity level."  However, few know their "fitness level."

This practice offers an annual Fitness Assessment that includes a submaximal cycle ergometry test.  The test provides an approximation of your fitness level.  In addition, we provide
referrals for nutrition and exercise counseling when requested.

Why Fitness Matters:
decreased risk of Colon Cancer

decreased risk of Heart Disease
decreased risk of Stroke, Dementia
decreased risk of Bone fractures
adjunct treatment for Depression, Diabetes, Obesity
enhances Vitality, Memory, Sexual and Cognitive functioning

We measure Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and Weight ... why not measure Fitness?
